Mendhar Poonch Residents Demand Closure Of Wine Shops

The residents of Mendhar area of Poonch district have demanded the closure of wine shops in the area.

According to CNI, Imam o Khateeb Jamia Masjid Mendhar along with other people has requested Deputy Commisioner Poonch to close the wine shops in Mendhar.

They have cautioned the administration to close them as soon as possible. “Otherwise we the people of Mendhar Sub Division come on road to Protest against this kind of action,” they said.

“We need Developmental works for the welfare of society not wine,” Imam said. Adding, “The wine is destroying the generations.”

“People from Hindu community contacted me and said to speak about this issue,” he said.

He while requesting people to refrain from drinking alcohol said that it is prohibited in Islam.(CNI)
