In Asthan Marag Catchment Area of Dal Lake, each plant planted during the year 2023-24 has been provided with Mesh Wire Tree Guards to afford protection to the plantations against the porcupines.
The installation of these Tree Guards has proved very effective against porcupine damage and sofar not s single plant has been damaged by porcupines. In future Watershed Division LCMA will install Mesh Wire Tree Guards to each plant.CNI
