In connection with the killing of a migrant labourer in Bijbehara this year, Police on Wednesday said that they have arrested six militants of the Kashmir Freedom Fighter (KFF) and seized a shopped under the name “The Game Modification” belonging to an arrested militant.
As per the news agency CNI, a police spokesperson said that the shop was used for an attack on a migrant labourer at Zirpara Bijbehara. “In the evening of 29/05/2023, militants fired upon a migrant labourer namely Deepak Kumar Deepu son of Mashu resident of Thial-Panchayat Deot Bilaspur Udhampur near Amusement Park Janglatmandi causing fatal injuries to him who later died at GMC Anantnag. After the killing of Deepak Kumar, the militant fled from the spot,” the spokesperson said.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 171/2023 under section 7/27 I.A Act, 302 IPC 16, 18, 20, 39 UAPA was registered and an investigation was initiated, he said. During the course of the investigation, six (06) militants were arrested and were identified as Sehran Bashir Nadaf son of Bashir Ahmad Nadaf resident of Shirpora Deva Colony, Ubaid Nazir Laigroo son of Nazir Ahmad Laigroo resident of Shirpora New Colony, Umer Amin Thoker son of Mohd Amin resident of Waghama, Huzaif Shabir Bhat son of Shabir Ahmad Bhat resident of Wachi Shopian, Nasir Farooq Shah son of Farooq Ahmad Shah resident of Wanteng Mohalla Bijbehara and Suveed Showkat Bhat son of Showkat Ahmad Bhat resident of Fatehpora.
Police said that the arrested militants were linked with Kashmir Freedom Fighter, an offshoot of the proscribed militant outfit JeM.
They said that during the further investigation, a shop under the name “The Game Modification” situated at Zirpara Bijbehara, run by accused Umer Amin Thoker used for the aforementioned militant attack was attached under section 25 UAPA by Anantnag Police. (CNI)
