Chandigarh: 9 February 2023: Bharatiya Janata Party’s National General Secretary Tarun Chugh issued a statement in the media saying that today three important heroes of the country have been honored with Bharat Ratna posthumously. This is a true tribute to the heroes who contributed to the development of the country, former Prime Minister Late Chaudhary Charan Singh, former Prime Minister Late PV Narasimha Rao, great agricultural scientist Dr. M.S. Swaminathan.
Chugh said that this decision is both historical and emotional, Chaudhary Charan Singh ji, a farmer’s son and a farmer’s messiah, who reached the post of Prime Minister of the country from an ordinary family, dedicated his life to the welfare of farmers, PV Narasimha Rao ji’s life was dedicated to the welfare of the farmers. There is a true respect for the change in economic policies which Congress always opposed due to family issues but the Modi government has given a true respect to his vision by giving him Bharat Ratna.
M S Swaminathan ji has been honored for the research he has done to improve agriculture in the country and for the benefit of farmers.
Chugh said that the Modi government has always been honoring the heroes who have contributed to the country in the last 10 years without any discrimination. Chugh said that the Modi government has accepted almost all the recommendations of the Swami Nathan Commission in the interest of the farmers and has taken many unprecedented decisions for the welfare of the farmers.
Chugh sarcastically said that during the Congress rule, medals, awards and honors were decided on the loyalty of a family, whereas the Modi government is honoring the true heroes of the country
