Srinagar : Mohammad Altaf Dar, a prominent socio-political activist and senior trade union leader, has strongly urged the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir and the Home Minister of India to take immediate action to address the ongoing issues faced by various daily wage workers in the region. In a recent statement, Mr.Altaf Dar highlighted the critical challenges faced by Aanganwadi workers, PHE daily wagers,PDD Daily Wagers,Tourism daily wagers, and other daily wage employees across various government departments, who have been struggling for their rightful demands for months.
Mr.Altaf Dar emphasized that these workers, who are the backbone of essential services in Jammu & Kashmir, continue to work under precarious conditions without adequate compensation or job security. Their prolonged struggle for regularization, timely wages, and basic benefits has caused significant distress among their families and has adversely affected the delivery of public services.
“The government must recognize the vital role these workers play in our society and address their grievances without further delay. It is unacceptable that those who contribute so much to our community are left to fend for themselves with little to no support from the authorities,” said Mr. Altaf Dar.
He further appealed to the Lieutenant Governor and the Home Minister to prioritize the regularization of these workers, ensuring fair wages, job security, and the provision of essential benefits such as healthcare and pensions. “The time for action is now. The grievances of these workers must be resolved, not only for their well-being but for the stability and prosperity of our entire region,” Mr. Altaf Dar added.
Mr.Altaf Dar (Rajbagh) reiterated his commitment to standing in solidarity with these workers and pledged to continue advocating for their rights until their demands are met. He called upon all stakeholders, including political leaders, trade unions, and civil society organizations, to join hands in this cause and press for immediate redressal of these longstanding issues.CNI
