semester.The programme commenced with a welcome address and introduction of the Principal, Prof. Mamta Gupta, who appreciated the joint efforts of the Departments of Hindi and Urdu and welcomed the resource person, Dr. Javed Anwar, Editor of the peer-reviewed journal Tehreek-e-Adab, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.In his highly informative and engaging lecture, Dr. Javed Anwar elaborated on the importance and

relevance of newspapers and magazines in the present scenario. He discussed the changing nature of print media in the digital age and highlighted its continuing role in developing reading habits, enhancing language skills, disseminating authentic information, and promoting literary and intellectual awareness. Making effective use of both Hindi and Urdu, he connected with the students and made the session particularly interesting and

accessible.The lecture was followed by an interactive question-and-answer session, which proved highly insightful, interesting and useful. Students enthusiastically participated and raised several questions related to newspapers,

magazines, contemporary journalism and the changing media landscape. Dr. Anwar responded to their queries with clarity and shared valuable insights from his experience as an editor and literary personality.The programme was conducted by Prof. Irfan Ali, who coordinated the proceedings effectively. Technical support for the online session was provided by Dr. Wajid Zargar, ensuring the smooth conduct of the programme.
