NC’s Ruhullah Files Nomination Papers For Srinagar LS Seat, Says ‘Our Target is To Translate the Sentiments of People

Srinagar 25 Apr: (CNI)Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) senior leader and a prominent Shia scholar Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi on Thursday filed his nomination papers for Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency in DC Office Complex, Srinagar.

As per the news agency CNI, National Conference candidate for Srinagar LS seat, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, was accompanied with a number of party workers and supporters, who escorted their leader to DC Officer where he submitted his nomination papers in presence of the Returning Officer Dr Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat.

Before filing his nomination papers, Ruhullah Mehdi, while talking to the media, ruled out competition from any political party and said that they (NC) are in the field for the mobilisation of J&K people’s sentiments.

“Our target is to translate the sentiments of people and create a political space where common masses can speak,” he said.

Replying to a query, the NC senior leader Ruhullah Mehdi said BJP has accepted they do not have field here but are contesting elections through their proxies, “who have acknowledged that they are at the saffron party’s disposal and are fighting polls for them.”

On the occasion, JKNC President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah also visited the DC Office Srinagar to express their support for the party’s candidate.

Among other candidates, who filed their nomination papers for Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency, included PDP’s Waheed ur Rehma Parra and Apni Party’s Mohammad Ashraf Mir.(CNI)
