New Delhi, (CNI NEWS): The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET-PG) 2026 was successfully conducted

nationwide on Sunday with robust security arrangements and real-time monitoring mechanisms in place.The examination was conducted for around 2.73 lakh candidates at 1,111 examination centres across 339 cities, covering all 36 States and Union Territories. More than 2.65 lakh candidates appeared for the

examination, according to the authorities.To strengthen coordination, supervision and real-time monitoring during the examination, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) operationalised 16 Regional Command Centres across the country.The examination was conducted under enhanced security and monitoring arrangements to ensure a smooth and transparent process for candidates appearing for the highly competitive postgraduate medical entrance examination.However, a technical disruption was reported at two examination centres in Jaipur, affecting 2,445 candidates. In view of the disruption, NBEMS has decided to conduct a re-examination for the affected candidates on September 5, 2026.

The authorities said necessary arrangements would be made for the re-examination to ensure that all affected candidates get an opportunity to appear for the examination under a fair and controlled environment.With the examination being conducted across a large number of centres and cities, the deployment of Regional Command Centres was aimed at ensuring close

coordination among examination centres and authorities and enabling prompt intervention in case of any technical or administrative issue.The successful conduct of NEET-PG 2026 across the country marks a major logistical exercise involving lakhs of candidates, examination personnel and security arrangements.(CNI NEWS) Inputs from PIB CNI NEWS
