Manzoor Bhat Urges LG Manoj Sinha and CS Atal Dulloo to Fast-track Project
Srinagar, 08 Feb: (CNI) The village welfare committee of Nowdal Tral convened today with BJP Kashmir senior party leader, Manzoor Bhat, in Srinagar to advocate for urgent intervention in commencing developmental work at the fruit and vegetable mandi in Nowdal Tral.
In a formal letter addressed to Manzoor Bhat, the committee highlighted the historical announcement made by the LG Administration in 2019 regarding the establishment of a fruit and vegetable mandi in the village. This significant development, a first for Tral, garnered widespread support from the entire Tral region, expressing gratitude towards the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and LG Manoj Sinha for sanctioning the project.
The committee members stated that despite experiencing numerous governments in J&K over the years, none have prioritized such crucial infrastructure projects for Nowdal Tral. It is the LG Administration that initiated such a project, and we are thankful to our LG Manoj Sinha for it.
The committee highlighted that despite the transfer of 16 Kanals and 9 marlas of land from the revenue department to the horticulture department for the establishment of the mandi, no progress has been made since 2021. Additionally, they underscored the proactive efforts of local fruit dealers who, during the 2023 fruit session, independently constructed three sheds and facilitated the transportation of approximately 4 lac apple boxes to various fruit mandis across the country.
Manzoor Bhat attentively listened to the grievances presented by the committee and assured them of the developmental administration’s commitment to addressing the issue promptly. He pledged to advocate for the matter with Honorable Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Shri Manoj Sinha, and Chief Secretary of J&K, Shri Atal Dulloo, urging swift action to ensure the timely construction of the mandi before the upcoming fruit and vegetable session.
The village committee expressed their optimism in the responsiveness of the government towards their long-standing demand for infrastructure development, particularly in the agricultural sector, which plays a crucial role in the economic livelihood of the region.
The committee extended their appreciation to Manzoor Bhat for his attentive engagement and advocacy on behalf of Nowdal Tral’s residents. They remain hopeful that their concerns will be addressed expeditiously, paving the way for tangible progress and prosperity in the region.(CNI)
