The new parliament building, which will henceforth be used as the official Indian parliament, will be reached by him leading all MPs on foot. The ancient structure was created by British architects Sir Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker in 1927, and it is now 96 years old. Over time, it was deemed insufficient for present-day requirements.
