Srinagar, 12 March (CNI): A pall of gloom has descended Soibugh Budgam locality following the incident of a Young woman killed by a 45-year-old old carpenter who chopped her body into pieces, and dumped them at different places.

As per the Current News of India (CNI), A pall of gloom descended on Soibugh Budgam, as soon as the news of killing unmarried women trickled in, with people turning up in large numbers at her ancestral house.

Reports reaching Current News of India (CNI) that the family members, relatives and men and women of the area were seen wailing inconsolably during the last rites of unmarried Women, after it came to known that the girl was allegedly killed by a 45-year-old carpenter and chopped her body into pieces, dumped them at different places in Budgam locality.

The incident sent shock waves among people, locals expressed concern and demanded stern punishment for the culprit.

As per the statement issued by Budgam Police, a copy of which lies with Current News of India (CNI), that reads on March 8, one Tanveer Ahmad Khan of Soibug Budgam submitted an application to the Police Post Soibugh, stating that his sister (name withheld), age 30 years left for the coaching classes on March 7 but didn’t return home.

Accordingly, the police registered a missing report and started an investigation in this regard.

It further said that Police rounded up several suspects including Shabir Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Aziz Wani of Mohandpora Budgam. After sustained interrogation, Shabir confessed to having murdered the missing girl.

The statement further said that to hide his crime, the culprit had cut the body into pieces and buried them at different locations. On his disclosure, the parts have been recovered, medico-legal formalities are underway and further investigation is on. (CNI)
