SRINAGAR:(CNI) Chief spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq accompanied him. Earlier in his address, Dr. Abdullah emphasized the need to modernize farming practices to compete globally. He highlighted the importance of educating youngsters about new technology and providing them with all possible assistance to implement it.

Recalling his tenure as Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Dr. Abdullah mentioned that, initially, people were very skeptical about solar panels. However, today, they understand how easy it is to lower electricity bills with solar energy. He noted that he had provided thousands of solar panels to Wadwan and Marwah in Kishtawar which are still in use today. Similarly, he asserted that drone technology is promising and should be encouraged.

At an event in Nowgam, Srinagar, while Dr. Abdullah was shown a demonstration of the effectiveness of drone technology for farmers in Jammu and Kashmir, he decided to bridge the gap between them and Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST-K) and took representatives from the event to the university. He urged the Vice-Chancellor to consider this technology, as it will help boost crop yields, reduce environmental impact, improve agricultural productivity, and implement sustainable practices in the targeted regions.

The Vice-Chancellor later highlighted that Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST-K) is the only university with 21 startups and 13 patents.
