Sofi’s story collections, “Shish-Ta Sangisthan” and “Lusymit Tarak,” earned him acclaim and the prestigious State Cultural Academy Award.
Sofi Ghulam Mohammad’s narratives, such as ‘Malded’ and ‘Tunz Khor,’ uniquely portrayed middle-class society, focusing on surroundings rather than individual personalities. His legacy is further illuminated by his cheerful and generous personality, as recalled by those who worked alongside him in the 1980s, a period when ‘Aftab,’ ‘Srinagar Times,’ and ‘Khidmat’ were prominent newspapers in Kashmir.
