Our fight to benefit every single resident of J&K, will rollback PSA: Omar Abdullah
Srinagar, CNI: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Advocate Syed Riyaz Ahmed Khawar from Rajpora, Pulwama and Apni Party’s district president for Pulwama Riyaz Ahmed Bhat today joined National Conference in presence of party’s vice president Omar Abdullah in Srinagar.
Advocate Khawar is a prominent face in Rajpora while Riyaz Bhat was district president of Apni Party in Pulwama district. Both the leaders were welcomed in the party fold by Omar Abdullah. Senior leader from the party and candidate for Rajpora seat Khawaja Ghulam Mohiudin Mir was also present on the occasion. Omar while speaking on the occasion, said it was not his sole fight but a collective fight.
“The we are fighting is the fight of every single resident of J&K. The benefit will be for the people of J&K,” Omar said. He said NC entered into a pre-poll alliance and the decision wasn’t too easy. “We sacrificed our seats for Congress. Result was seen on the first day when Ghulam Nabi Azad decided to stay away from the campaigning,” he said.
Omar said that NC has promised that if voted to power, the Public Safety Act (PSA) will be rolled back. “We will stop harassment and arrests of youth,” he said. CNI
