Hajin: To foster inclusive democracy and encourage active participation from women voters, a groundbreaking Pink Conclave was organized by ARO 14-Sonawari under the SVEEP activities at Town Hall MC Hajin on today afternoon.
The program was presided over by the Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) of Sonawari constituency, Amir Choudhary, along with BDO Hajin, Fayaz Ahmad Mir, Tehsildar Hajin, Dr. Nuzhat Wali, and other senior officers who were also present.
The program was attended by representatives from the NRLM department, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Entrepreneurs, meritorious students, women achievers, athletes, and renowned poets.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the function, ARO Sonawari, Amir Choudhary, said that this year the Election Commission has set up pink polling booths for the upcoming parliamentary elections. “These special booths will be staffed entirely by women from the presiding officers to the micro-observers and security personnel,” he said, adding, “This is being done to attract more women to vote and to restore confidence among them.CNI
