On this occasion, Sh. Aftab Ahmad Shiekh, JKPS/SSP, Deputy Commandant, JKAP 6th Bn., addressed the officers/officials of this unit who took pledge on the occasion of “Vigilance Awareness Week” and focus to create awareness about the detrimental effects of corruption to adhere various policies and procedures that everyone needs to follow in order to eradicate corruption and desist from undesirable activities and highlight the critical role of vigilance in ensuring good awareness standards in the financial sector and the need to strengthen preventive vigilance framework to increase efficiency.
He further stated that we believe that corruption has been one of the major obstacles to economic, political and social progress of our country and all stakeholders such as government citizens and private sectors need to work together to eradicate corruption. We acknowledge our responsibility to lead by example and need to put in place safeguards, integrity framework and code of ethics to ensure that we are not part of any corrupt practice and we tackle instances of corruption with utmost strictness.
As a part of J&K police, we need to lead from the front in eradicating corruption and in maintaining highest standards of integrity, transparency and good governance in all aspects of our operations.
