The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday said that they have recovered an abducted girl and arrested Kidnapper in Baramulla district.
The girl was received from Check Jamal Mir area of Pattan in Baramulla district.
Police in a statement, according to news agency Current News of India-CNI said, “One person (name withheld) lodged a written complaint with Police Post Palhallan stating therein that his daughter (name withheld) aged about 22 years was abducted by one person namely Aijaz Ahmad Bhat S/O Nzair Ahmad Bhat R/O Check Jamal Mir Pattan.”
“To this effect, case FIR under relevant sections of IPC was registered at Police Station Pattan,” statement reads.
On this, Police Post Palhallan swung into action and consequently a team was constituted who after strenous efforts traced and recovered the abducted girl, police spokesperson said.
He said, the accused have also been arrested in the instant case.
After completing the legal formalities, the abductee was handed over to her legal heirs, he added.
Investigation of the case is going on.
