Jammu : Kundan Kashmiri, President of the Kashmir Pandit Conference (KPC), strongly condemns and rejects the recent statement made by Mehbooba Mufti, President of the PDP, regarding the revelations by DGP of Jammu and Kashmir, Sh. R.R. Swain that there is internal subversion within Jammu and Kashmir’s political framework.

It is deeply concerning that Ms. Mufti chose to provoke controversy instead of engaging with the facts presented about the infiltration of terrorism into regional political parties.

 

Kundan Kashmiri emphasizes that DGP Swain’s assertions are grounded in truth and deserve serious consideration. The internal subversion within Jammu and Kashmir’s political framework has been a significant factor in promoting separatism and terrorism, often supported by Kashmir-centric political entities. It is alarming that such pro-terrorist and separatist elements exploit democratic freedoms to further their agenda.

 

KPC demands that both the Jammu and Kashmir government and the central government take strong note of Mehbooba Mufti’s divisive statements. It is imperative that the authorities recognize the critical role played by internal political actors in exacerbating the security situation in the region. Kundan Kashmiri calls for accountability, stating that if the DGP is being labeled a “fixer,” then the political discourse is dangerously skewed.

 

Furthermore, he urges the Government of India to reassess its Kashmir policy and strategies, acknowledging the ground realities rather than viewing the region solely through the lens of tourism or silence in the face of anti-national elements. The plight of the Kashmiri Pandit community and other marginalized groups must not be overlooked; their exodus and the ongoing denial of their genocide undermine the integrity of the Indian state.

 

Kundan Kashmiri, President KPC commends DGP Swain for his courage in addressing the underlying factors of separatism and maintaining his commitment as a sincere officer dedicated to the welfare of Jammu and Kashmir. The KPC stands united in supporting efforts to uphold justice and security in the region.
