Parvaiz wani cni Anantnag, CNI NEWS: In a significant push to strengthen rail connectivity in South Kashmir, the Ministry of Railways has sanctioned an experimental stoppage of the Jammu Tawi–Srinagar Vande Bharat Express at Anantnag railway station.As per a Railway Board order, Train Nos.

26401/26402 Jammu Tawi–Srinagar Vande Bharat Express will be provided a halt at Anantnag from an early convenient date, subject to mandatory security clearance.The Railway Board has instructed Northern Railway to keep a close watch on passenger bookings and ticket sales from Anantnag and undertake a subsequent assessment of the halt. Authorities have also been directed to ensure extensive publicity of the newly sanctioned stoppage and strictly comply with all prescribed operational and security protocols.

The move is being seen as a major boost for commuters across Anantnag and other districts of South Kashmir, who will now have improved access to the premium semi-high-speed rail service linking Jammu with Srinagar.The experimental halt is expected to ease passenger movement, enhance accessibility to the Vande Bharat service and further consolidate the rail network connecting South Kashmir with Jammu and Srinagar.
