Raksha Bandhan : Children from SOS Children’s Village of India tie Rakhi to Divisional Commissioner Kashmir

Srinagar, 30 Aug (CNI) : As a mark of their love, the children from SOS Children’s Village of India have tied Rakhi to Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri.

Raksha Bandhan also known as Rakhi Purnima or Rakhi, which falls on the full moon day (‘purnima’) of the Shravana month of the Hindu solar calendar (August 22, this year), Raksha Bandhan is an age-old tradition of celebrating the sacred relationship of brothers and sisters. The occasion marks the tying of rakhi, a decorative thread, by sisters on the wrists of their brothers.

As per the News agency-Current News of India, Six children from three clusters of Family Strengthening Programme accompanied by three caregivers and two programme persons  tied their “Rakhi” of love to Div Com Kashmir.

On the occasion, Div Com shared sweets and jolly moments with the children and wished them a prosperous & promising future.

Notably, SoS Children’s Village of India, is an NGO working for the welfare of under privileged children and communities.(CNI)
