JAMMU May 31th : Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President of J&K National Conference Jammu, has expressed profound sorrow and grief over the tragic bus accident near Kalidhar in Akhnoor that resulted in the loss of 21 lives and left 52 others injured.
The unfortunate incident occurred when a bus carrying pilgrims to Shiv Khori plunged into a deep gorge in Kalidhar area on Thursday.
“My heartfelt prayers go out to the families who lost their loved ones. May the Almighty give them the strength to bear this irreparable loss. I am also praying for the speedy recovery of those injured in this tragic accident,” Gupta said in a statement issued here today.
The senior NC leader raised serious concerns over the deplorable condition of roads in the hilly areas of the Jammu region, emphasizing the slow pace of work on the four-laning of the Jammu-Poonch National Highway. He highlighted that the roads in the Chenab Valley and the Poonch-Rajouri districts are also in a pitiable state, necessitating urgent attention of authorities sitting at the helm of affairs.
“I urge the government to complete the ongoing roadworks on a fast-track basis. The safety and well-being of our citizens must be the top priority, and improving road infrastructure is crucial to prevent such tragic incidents in the future,” he stated.
The Provincial President called upon the government to provide all possible assistance to the bereaved families and ensure that the injured receive necessary medical facilities promptly.Current News of India (CNI)
