Responce of Kashmiri Pandit Conference ( KPC )  to Dr. Farooq Abdullah’s call for return: KP,s are ignored,  cheated and bleeded wants justice and rights.

In response to Dr. Farooq Abdullah’s recent appeal to displaced Kashmiri Pandits to return to the Kashmir Valley, Kundan Kashmiri, President of the Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC), has issued a strong and detailed statement, emphasizing the unresolved issues that prevent the community from considering such a return. While Dr. Abdullah’s call may appear conciliatory, it fails to acknowledge the brutal realities faced by this victimized community.

Kundan Kashmiri pointed out that the mass exodus of Kashmiri Pandits occurred during Dr. Abdullah’s tenure as Chief Minister in the late 1980s, when the community faced targeted violence and brutal killings. “At that time, when protection was needed most, you left for London, abandoning the community to its fate. Even after 35 years, no judicial or CBI inquiry has been conducted into the ethnic cleansing and forced exodus of Kashmiri Pandits,” said Kashmiri.

The statement raises critical questions about accountability and justice for the atrocities faced by the community, including the horrors of the Wandhama massacre, for which no inquiry or justice has been delivered. “Can, Dr. Abdullah, guarantee that such atrocities will not happen again, and that those responsible for past crimes will finally be brought to justice?” Kundan Kashmiri asked, demanding a written guarantee for the safety and security of every Kashmiri Pandit who might consider returning.

The press release also highlighted the erasure of the community’s religious and cultural heritage under successive governments, including the renaming of significant Hindu sites. “How can the Kashmiri Pandit community trust a government that has systematically erased their history and identity? Will you restore our lands, homes, and cultural heritage, or are these promises only political rhetoric?”

Additionally, Kundan  Kashmiri emphasized the lack of political representation for the displaced community. “Despite your party’s claim of inclusiveness, not a single mandate was given to a Kashmiri Pandit to contest elections in the Valley. This speaks volumes about your genuine commitment to our cause.”

Kundan Kashmiri reiterated that the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community will only consider returning if they are allowed to live together in one designated area ( one place ) within the Valley, with full constitutional guarantees, adequate security, and modern infrastructure after solving our genocidal issues.

.

. “After 35 years of exile, we deserve the right to live with dignity, security, and a rightful place as an indigenous community in Kashmir.”

The press release concludes by stating that until these issues are addressed, justice, security, restoration of properties, genocide of the victim  KP community  recognized  and the establishment of a secure and dignified settlement at ” one place ”  in the valley  the call for the return of Kashmiri Pandits remains hollow.

The Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) has called upon the Government of India and the leadership of Jammu and Kashmir to take immediate action to address these long-standing grievances.
