Jammu : We victim Kashmiri Pandit community has endured untold suffering for decades, our lives shattered by the brutal exodus and forced to flee our ancestral land under the shadow of violence and persecution, we became victims of a tragic chapter in history.
As we rebuild our lives elsewhere in exile, our call for restitution echoes through the corridors of justice, demanding recognition of our plight and restoration of our rights.
The demand for restitution by the displaced Kashmiri Pandits encompasses multifaceted needs, rooted in the profound loss and trauma we have endured.
Foremost among these is the need for acknowledgment of the atrocities we faced, acknowledgment of the injustice inflicted upon us, and acknowledgment of our right to return to our ancestral land and settled together as a community consolidately at one place and dignity restored.
Without acknowledgment, our wounds of the past remain unhealed, festering reminders of a painful past.
Restitution also entails addressing the material losses incurred by we Kashmiri Pandit community. Homes abandoned, properties seized, livelihoods lost as the economic toll of displacement has been staggering.
Also Restitution must encompass measures to redress these losses, providing compensation and support to build our new life and livelihoods.
Beyond mere financial restitution, it must also include measures to ensure sustainable economic empowerment, enabling our community to thrive once more.
Besides the demand for restitution extend beyond material concerns, cultural restitution is equally vital, as the Kashmiri Pandit community seeks to preserve and revitalize its rich cultural heritage, which has been under threat from long.
Efforts needs to revive cultural traditions, promote linguistic heritage, and preserve historical sites must be integral to any restitution framework, ensuring the preservation of identity and belonging for future generations.
Moreover, restitution must prioritize the rehabilitation of displaced Kashmiri Pandits, addressing their social and psychological needs, comprehensive rehabilitation programs, including access to healthcare, education, and having genuine space politically and socially .
As one of the sufferers and sevak of the victim KP community, I would like to say that the call for restitution is not just a matter of justice; it is a moral imperative, it is a reaffirmation of Government commitment to uphold the rights and dignity of every individual of this victim community .No one should turn a blind eye to the suffering endured by the Kashmiri Pandit community ,so,,Government and its administration should very immediately give heed to their call for restitution, for restoring justice to us and uphold the values of compassion, empathy, and humanity.
. We hope it is only present government at the centre and union terrority of Jammu and Kashmir, which truly can heal the wounds of our past and pave the way for our brighter future.
