Security increased at SGR ahead of Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit

Srinagar, May 16 (CNI): Ahead of Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Srinagar, security measures have been beefed up significantly, with special focus on the Gupkar area.

 

Additional security forces have been deployed along with security personnel who are keeping a close eye on possible routes for the home minister’s arrival.

 

Sources said that it is expected that Shah will reach Srinagar late this evening and will stay overnight.

 

 

“During his stay, he is scheduled to meet various delegations, including representatives of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP),” sources said.

 

Additionally, it has been reported that the Home Minister is scheduled to leave on Friday.

 

His visit coincides with the ongoing parliamentary elections in the region, with the Baramulla parliamentary constituency going to polls on May 20, followed by the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat on May 25. (CNI)
