Senior Citizens Joy Society (SCJS) organized a special event to mark the ‘International Day of Happiness’ with great enthusiasm and participation. The event was graced by Sh. Surinder Gupta, Former President of the Senior Citizens Welfare Association & Consumer Welfare Association and a retired Chief Engineer, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Mr. Ashok Gupta, President of SCJS, opened the event by introducing the aims and objectives of the Society and highlighting the significance of celebrating the International Day of Happiness. He emphasized that happiness plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life, especially for senior citizens, who often face emotional and social challenges in their golden years.
Dr. Shreyansh Kumar Jain, State Yoga Commissioner and Chairman/Advisor of SCJS, elaborated on the importance of celebrating this day and stressed how maintaining happiness can significantly improve the mental and physical well-being of seniors. He emphasized that happiness is not merely an emotion but a state of mind that can be cultivated through conscious efforts and a positive outlook on life.
Key Strategies for Seniors to Stay Happy in Daily Life:

Mr. Ashok Khajuria, Secretary of SCJS, conducted the proceedings of the program smoothly, ensuring meaningful participation from all attendees. Prominent members who shared their valuable insights included Prof. Virender Gupta, C. M. Sharma, H. C. Vaid, Vijay Sharma, Abhinandan Jain, Yash Paul Sharma, and Amju Bansal. Their discussions reinforced the need to nurture a joyful and supportive environment for senior citizens.
The Chief Guest, Sh. Surinder Gupta, applauded the efforts of SCJS in organizing such an impactful event and expressed appreciation for their commitment to addressing the emotional and social needs of seniors.
The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks presented by Mr. Narinder Wadhera, acknowledging the contributions of all participants and supporters. The program ended on a patriotic note with the National Anthem, leaving everyone inspired and motivated to cultivate happiness in their daily lives.
