Jammu : The kind attention of Lt.Governor,Jammu and Kashmir is invited towards severe electricity and water crisis currently afflicting the residents of Jammu—– KPC .
The persistent power cuts, occurring four to five times in a day have become a dire issue, particularly impacting the elderly, ailing individuals, and young children. The situation is exacerbated during the night some times also when residents are forced to seek relief on rooftops due to unbearable heat. The temperature in Jammu has been soaring between 45 to 47 degrees Celsius, making it increasingly difficult for people to cope with these frequent power outages.
The lack of reliable electricity not only disrupts daily life but also poses significant health risks. The extreme heat, coupled with power cuts, has led to severe discomfort and health complications for many residents. The distressing conditions demand immediate action to alleviate the suffering of the people of Jammu.
Moreover, the water crisis in Jammu is equally alarming. The supply of drinking water and water for other essential uses is highly irregular, often provided only once or twice a week and for a very brief duration. This scarcity has forced residents to purchase water from the market or rely on tankers, placing a significant financial burden on many families.
The failure of the concerned departments to address these issues has left the citizens in a state of despair. The compounded effect of the electricity and water crisis is creating an untenable situation for the residents, severely impacting their quality of life and overall well-being.
Kashmiri Pandit Conference ( KPC) earnestly request your esteemed office to personally intervene in these grave matters. Your prompt and decisive action is crucial to resolve the ongoing crises and provide much-needed relief to the people of Jammu. Ensuring a stable electricity supply and a consistent water supply is essential to mitigate the current hardships and prevent further distress.
