Sep, 19, 2023 CNI News: National Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah stated on Tuesday that the scenario is in contradiction to the government’s assertions and that the actual situation can be gauged from the situation in Kokernag, Uri, Rajouri, and other places.
Talking to the reporters in Budgam, Omar said that while Srinagar’s administration may be preoccupied with Miss World and golf tournaments, the true picture can be found in Kokernag, Uri, and other locations. The scenario in Kokernag, he continued, is very different from the “lies” of the government since “we have lost 4 officers there and it is the 7th day today and we have not even killed a single militant there so far.”
Omar responded that the administration should first accept the issue before a remedy is proposed to the current situation.
Omar stated that the NC is not opposed to the Women’s Reservation Bill because it has already been implemented in Panchayats and other institutions.
“NC does not oppose women’s reservations in any way and has a separate women’s wing. As it has several female candidates across Jammu and Kashmir, NC won’t suffer a setback, he claimed.
