Malik gh nabi cniUdhampur, :(CNI NEWS)The three-day Spandan League, organised by STC BSF Udhampur under the theme “Sports for Peace and Development Across Nation,” concluded successfully at Subhash Stadium, Udhampur, on Tuesday.The sporting event witnessed enthusiastic participation of around 550 young boys and girls from across District Udhampur, who competed in badminton, kabaddi and
volleyball.The league was conducted on August 22, 24 and 25, 2026, with the objective of promoting sports, discipline, teamwork and a spirit of peace and development among the youth.IG STC BSF Udhampur Sandeep Channan was the Chief Guest at the concluding ceremony. The Guests of Honour included Suraj Bhan Singh, Chief Judo Coach and In-charge Manager,
Subhash Stadium, Udhampur; Dinesh Sharma, International Judo Player; Tarsim Singh, DSO, DYSS Udhampur; S.S. Gill, Retired SP, BSF; and Tajinder Singh, Retired DSP, BSF.A total of 58 teams from 18 schools participated in the league. The competitions included 18 teams in badminton, 24 teams in kabaddi and 16 teams in volleyball, showcasing the growing interest among young sportspersons in the district.
The event also witnessed the participation of around 90 officials, while nearly 650 spectators attended the matches and supported the young players throughout the league.The concluding ceremony highlighted the importance of providing young people with opportunities to participate in sports and develop qualities such as leadership, discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship.
The successful conclusion of the Spandan League was marked by enthusiastic participation from boys and girls, along with strong support from schools, officials, coaches and spectators.
