Srinagar, Mar 23: (CNI) In an effort to address the issues of traffic violation challanges trafic police cracks down on traffic violators, The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic Rural Kashmir, Ravinder Pal Singh initiated a targeted safety special drive at Galander Pampore road to curb accidents.
The drive, which aimed to address issues such as overloading, overspeeding, reckless driving, and other visible offenses, involved officials including DySP Traffic and DTI Pampore.
Singh informed that the special drive targeted violators engaged in overloading and various offenses in the Galander Pampore area.
He advised drivers of cabs, taxis, matadors, and buses to avoid overspeeding and overloading, emphasizing that authorities are utilizing all provisions under the Motor Vehicle Act to penalize offenders.
The primary focus of the drive was on combating overloading of passengers, with zero tolerance for such violations. The commitment to enforcing traffic rules was evident in these extensive drives, which are being carried out across all rural districts of Kashmir
SSP traffic emphasized that the special drive was aimed to raise awareness among the public and deter traffic violators from breaching traffic rules.
The drive specifically targeted violators, with a focus on triple riders, stunt bikers, and minors driving, which currently pose significant challenges to the traffic police.
Ravinder Pal Singh highlighted the drive’s motive to address issues like overloading, overspeeding, and violations such as not using helmets or seatbelts, with the aim of enhancing safety and preventing accidents.
Disregarding this advice may result in legal consequences, including being booked under relevant provisions and potential imprisonment, he warned. The efforts underscore the commitment to minimizing accidents and fatalities on the roads through strict enforcement of traffic rules and regulations.
Furthermore’ SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir R.P Singh also issued a plea to parents, urging them not to allow their children to operate two-wheelers and four-wheelers without a valid driver’s license.
He warned of strict action against the parents whose children would be found involved in any traffic violation.
The vehicle operators were briefed to ply their respective vehicles within the prescribed speed limit and avoid overloading, rash and negligent/stunt driving on road, so that the precious human lives could be saved.-(CNI)
