Jammu: Over three decades of Kashmiri Pandits plight has been an open wound, ignored by many, exploited by some, and forgotten by most,so in the face of this adversity, what is the way forward and measures to be taken for the displaced Kashmiri Pandits?

The victim community of Kashmiri Pandits which has been ignored and isolated from long period, it now paramount to recognition their suffering nationally and

international in particular by the Indian government, must acknowledge the suffering and injustice faced by these Kashmiri Pandits.

KP,s displacement was not merely a relocation but a forced exodus driven by ethnic cleansings, violence and persecution. By recognizing their plight, steps to be taken towards addressing their grievances and restoring our rights.

The healing of this victim KP community is equally essential. The wounds inflicted by displacement run deep, affecting not only the physical but also the psychological and emotional well-being of the Kashmiri Pandit community. Additionally, initiatives promoting cultural preservation and community cohesion can help rebuild the social fabric torn apart by displacement.

Furthermore, representation is key. The voices of displaced Kashmiri Pandits must be heard in decision-making processes that affect their lives. There should be serious thought over their future, ensuring that their concerns and aspirations are taken into account. Political representation, both at the local and national levels, is essential to advocate for their rights and interests.

Restoration of rights is non-negotiable. The Kashmiri Pandits have been denied their basic rights for far too long. Measures should be implemented to restore their right to property, education, employment, and healthcare. Special provisions and affirmative action policies

should be devised to uplift the socio-economic status of the displaced community and facilitate their integration into mainstream society.

In addition, resettlement with dignity is crucial. The displaced Kashmiri Pandits should have the option to return to their Kashyap Bhoomi to settle at ” ONE PLACE ” with adequate support for the said resettlement and rehabilitation. Alternatively, provisions should be made for their integration and empowerment at their current places of residence, ensuring that they can live with dignity ,prosperity and security.CNI
