26th May 2025 CNI Editorial: President Donald Trump said on Sunday that Russian President Vladimir Putin “has gone absolutely crazy” after Russia launched its largest air attack on Ukraine since the war began. Trump added, “I’m not happy with what Putin is doing. He’s killing a lot of people, and I don’t know what the hell happened to him.”

Trump shared his thoughts on Truth Social, saying missiles and drones are being fired into Ukrainian cities without any reason. He also said he used to have a good relationship with Putin but now thinks something has changed.

At least 12 people, including children, were killed in the latest attacks, and many more were injured. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky blamed the U.S. and other countries for staying silent, saying it encourages Putin to continue the war.

Trump also criticized Zelensky, saying the Ukrainian leader’s words are not helping and “better stop.”

Later, Trump said he might consider new sanctions against Russia, even though he had earlier avoided supporting them. He said he was surprised by the scale of the attack, especially since he recently spoke with Putin in hopes of arranging a 30-day ceasefire.

After talks with Putin, Zelensky, and other leaders, Trump announced that both Russia and Ukraine have agreed to start peace talks to end the war. (CNI)
