Two BSF Personnel Among 21 Persons Arrested After Found Involved In Infiltration Attempts: Govt

Twenty-One people including two BSF personnel, involved in the infiltration attempts, have been arrested since 2021, an union minister said.

The government said that further measures have been taken apart from deploying additional personnel at the borders to stop infiltration attempts.

According to CNI, the Lok Sabha was informed on Tuesday that two Border Security Force (BSF) personnel and 21 civilians involved in infiltration attempts have been arrested since 2021.

Union Minister of State for Home Naseet Pramanak said that the government has adopted a multi-pronged approach to prevent infiltration along the Indo-Pakistan and Indo-Bangladesh borders, including increasing the number of BSF personnel, fencing the border.

He said that use of water crafts, boats and floating border posts to dominate riverine areas, advanced technological equipment like handheld thermal imager, night vision device, twin telescopes and unmanned aerial vehicles, upgradation of intelligence setup, and Better coordination with the state like measures were adopted.

Governments and intelligence agencies were also part of the multi-pronged strategy, he said in a written reply to a question.

He said that whenever any official or local persons are found to be involved in such types of activities, appropriate investigations are conducted by the concerned authorities of Central and State Governments and appropriate strict action is taken.(CNI)
