Srinagar, 06 Sep (CNI): Army on Wednesday claimed to foiled an infiltration attempt by killing two militants along the Line of Control in Mandi area in Poonch district.
As per the statement issued here news agency-Current News of India (CNI) reads that two militants were observed crossing Line of Control coming towards own side on night 5/6 Sep in Mandi sub sect of Poonch Dist. Joint operation was launched by Indian Army and JKP immediately to intercept the militants.
Hostile terrain, dense jungle and steep gradients were utilized by militants to bring down heavy volume of fire on own troops. In the ensuing firefight which continued till next day both militants eliminated. Body of one militant alongwith war-like stores recovered.
