Hon’ble Textile Minister, Govt of India Sh Giri Raj Singh presented a certificate of appreciation to WWEPC (Wool & Woollens Export ProMotion Council) for his contribution in to the success of Bharat Tex 2025 recently held in New Delhi. The certificate of appreciation received by Dr Romesh Khajuria, Chairman, WWEPC, Ministry of Textiles, Govt of India during thanks giving event celebrating success of Bharat Tex 2025 here in New Delhi. Dr Romesh Khajuria thanked Honourable Minister of Textiles for recognition of team WWEPC hard work during Bharat Tex 25 (BT25), after receiving the certificate Dr Khajuria stated that BT25 a global scale Trade fair held in 2.2mn sq ft area, with 1,25,000+ visitors, 9,900+ Buyers including 6,600+ foreign buyers(more than double from the previous year BT24) from 140+ countries estimated about usd 2 to 2.5 billion export potential.
Dr Khajuria further stated that BT25 a tapestry of experience: celebration of Textiles as Indie Haat celebrated India’s artisanal heritage with 85 master craftsperson’s showing 80+ handicraft styles including Pashmina Shawls, Paithani sarees, Kalam Kari painting and many more, Fashion Shows “Breathing threads”and “North east show” and sustainability awards were also part of BT25, 30 live craft demonstrations, preserving and promoting India’s craft legacy on a global platform.
Dr Romesh Khajuria also said that it’s a global Textiles Dialogue with 80+ knowledge sessions on 12 thematic pillars, 120+ B2G and G2G meetings,403 speakers from over 30 countries, 40 knowledge partners, including 10 multilateral agencies. 22 states, 7 textile based development boards, 4 prestigious academic institutions were part of BT25. A vibrant textile ecosystem unleashed with 71 start up applications, 48 investors, 29 sustainability innovator awards and report on startups by IIT Madras also released, it’s like Chintan shivir on textiles for four days and various MoUs & Seminars part of it. All above make it a grand event.
Out come of the knowledge sessions/discussion recommendations will help in policy making decisions by Ministry of Textiles to promote textiles industry.
Success of the BT25 can be judged by that 91% of the exhibitors of the event rated positively, with 83% confirming continuous participation. 97% of the buyers intend to return, 78% expressing strong purchase intent. 4.4/5 exhibitors and 4.5/5 buyers is over all satisfaction score further added by Dr Romesh Khajuria.
Dr Romesh Khajuria said success of BT25 will act as catalyst in achieving export targets set by the textile industry. The thanks giving celebration of success BT25 event also attended by Sh Pavitra Margarita, Hon’ble Minister of State for Textiles and external affairs, Smt Neelam Shami Rao, Secretary Textiles, Rohit Kansal Additional Secretary for Textiles, Smt Shubra, Trade Advisor, MoT, Sh Narain Goenka, Chairman Bharat Tex Trade Federation(BTTF), Sh Badhresh Dhodia, Co chairman, Dh Rakesh Kumar, Secretary General BTTF, members of the steering committee, Representatives of Textile EPCs(Export ProMotion Councils), captains of the Textile industry, Representatives of various trade bodies and other logistics providers for the BT25.
