I write to your good self with a profound sense of urgency and deep concern regarding the escalating persecution, assaults, and gross human rights violations being committed against the Hindu community in Bangladesh. As the President of the Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC), a human rights activist, victim of similar nature of assaults and human right violation in Kashmir valley in 1990, I feel compelled to bring to your immediate attention the harrowing situation faced by the Hindu minorities, particularly the women and children, who are enduring unspeakable horrors.
Sir, the Hindu community in Bangladesh is under siege. Despite their peaceful coexistence and significant contributions to the cultural and social fabric of the nation, they are being systematically targeted through acts of violence, discrimination, and sexual exploitation, like Kashmiri Hindus faced in Kashmir in 1990 and onwards. The situation has reached a critical point, where the safety and dignity of these individuals are at grave risk. This is not merely a matter of religious intolerance but a blatant violation of basic human rights.
Sir, the attacks on Hindu women in Bangladesh are particularly abhorrent. They are subjected to brutal sexual assaults, abductions, forced conversions, and marriages. These acts are not only a gross violation of their rights but also a deliberate attempt to terrorize the community and erode their sense of security and identity. The international community cannot, and must not, turn a blind eye to this blatant disregard for human dignity, as was done with KashmiriHindus who are still in great agnoy and pain of ethnic cleansing and genocide and awiting for justice from your goodself and other quarters.
Sir, the United Nations, as the foremost global institution committed to maintaining peace and safeguarding human rights, bears a significant responsibility in addressing this crisis. I urge the United Nations and its human rights organizations to kindly, :
1.A thorough and impartial investigation must be conducted into the widespread human rights abuses against Hindus in Bangladesh. The findings should be made public, and the perpetrators must be held accountable.
2.The United Nations must work closely with the Government of Bangladesh to ensure that the Hindu community is provided with adequate protection. This includes establishing safe zones and providing resources to help victims of violence.
3. The persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh along the genocide and ethnic cleansed of Kashmiri Hindus in 1990 and onwards should be highlighted in international forums, including the United Nations General Assembly and the United Nations Human Rights Council, to bring global attention and condemnation to these atrocities.
Sir, as the Prime Minister of India, the world’s largest democracy and a nation with deep cultural and historical ties to the Hindu community in Bangladesh , I call upon you, Shri Narendra Modi Ji ,to take immediate and decisive action. India must not remain silent while our brothers and sisters in Bangladesh are subjected to such cruelty. I urge your goodself to:
1.Engage with the Government of Bangladesh at the highest levels to ensure the safety and protection of the Hindu community. India must use its influence to press for immediate and concrete actions to end the violence.
2.India should offer refuge to those fleeing persecution and extend humanitarian assistance to the affected families. Additionally, diplomatic and financial aid should be directed to support initiatives that protect and uplift the Hindu community in Bangladesh.
3. India must lead efforts in the international community to raise awareness and build consensus for a coordinated response to this crisis. The plight of Hindus in Bangladesh should be a focal point in India’s foreign policy and human rights advocacy.
Sir, the situation is dire, and time is of the essence. I implore your goodself to act swiftly and decisively to prevent further atrocities and ensure that the Hindu community in Bangladesh can live with dignity, security, and freedom. The world is watching, and history will judge us by our actions or our failure to act.
In the name of justice and humanity, I urge you sir, to intervene before it is too late.
Yours sincerely,
