Maha Shivratri, falling on February 25, 2025, is one of the most significant festivals for the Kashmiri Pandit community, deeply rooted in our spiritual, cultural, and traditional ethos. This sacred occasion is observed with immense devotion, involving elaborate rituals, prayers, and offerings that require considerable financial preparation. Given the current economic constraints faced by many Kashmiri Pandit employees, particularly those under the PM Package, it is imperative that they receive timely financial support to celebrate this revered festival with dignity and devotion.
Sir, we earnestly request your esteemed office to facilitate the advance disbursement of salaries for February 2025 to all PM Package employees and other Kashmiri Pandit employees working in Jammu and Kashmir. This timely assistance will enable them to meet their religious obligations without financial hardship. Additionally, a special Shivratri festival advance should be sanctioned to ease the economic burden on these employees and allow them to uphold their traditions without and any problem .
Beside five days special leave and station permission to be granted to all of them to attend this pious occasion at their respective residences at Jammu,Delhi and other places.
Sir, it is equally important that essential festival items, including walnuts, Nadroo, fish, vegetables, and other customary offerings, be made readily available at Kashmiri Pandit-dominated locations and residential colonies in Jammu, Udhampur, Srinagar, and other areas where our community is presently residing on lesser & control rates. Ensuring an uninterrupted supply of these items will allow families to perform their age-old rituals as per tradition.
Sir, We trust in your leadership and your commitment to the welfare of all communities in Jammu and Kashmir. Given the deep cultural and religious importance of this festival, we request urgent action on this matter and an official communication confirming the necessary steps taken in this regard at the earliest.
