US Army’s Newest Helicopter Destroyed During Combat Exercise

The helicopter of the US Army, involved in the military exercises in Australia, crashed due to unknown reasons.

According to an international news agency, 2,500 personnel from the forces of Australia, the United States, Indonesia, the Philippines and East Timor are participating in the ongoing joint military exercises in the northern island of Australia.

During this military exercise, the Osprey V-22 helicopter of the US Army crashed in which 23 US soldiers were present.

The cause of the accident has not yet been determined. Rescue teams were sent to the helicopter crash site. The bodies of 3 soldiers were recovered from the helicopter while others were shifted to the hospital with serious injuries. The condition of 5 injured is said to be critical.

The Australian police chief told the media that most of the injured officers were treated at the scene and their condition is out of danger.

According to local media, hospital sources have expressed fear of an increase in casualties.(CNI)
