Festival to help woo foreign tourists to J&K, give economy further push: Sanjay Saraf
Srinagar, Oct 14.Vomedh Group is all set to organise International Film Festival in Kashmir and Jammu regions from October 20-22.
Addressing press conference here, Vomedh Group Organiser Rakesh said that they have decided to organise International Film Festival simultaneously in both regions of Kashmir and Jammu from October 20 to October 22.
“We have been organising the event in J&K since past six years. But this time, event will be organised in both the regions at a time,” he said. “We have received the list of 400 films from 50 countries. The jury selected 59 short films, 25 feature films and 15 documentaries. In Jammu, the event will be held in Bag-e-Bahu and in Srinagar, it will be held at Tagore Hall.”
Rakesh said that this year, the festival will be organised to pay rich tributes to great artist Mushtaq Kak.
Speaking on the occasion, Advisor Vomedh Group, Sanjay Saraf said that the festival will provide a great opportunity to woo international guests to J&K. “Not just Jammu, but Kashmir also will be see surge in international guests,” Saraf said, adding that it will also give the economy of J&K a further push.
He said that the festival will give further push to the growing tourism in J&K. “We also hope to get full support from the new Chief Minister of J&K Omar Abdullah,” he said. “The festival will send a message of peace across the world.”
