Srinagar, Mar Apr 04: Renowned socio-political activist and senior trade union leader Mohammad Altaf Dar has voiced grave concern over the increasing sightings of wild animals in residential areas in different parts of Valley which pose a significant threat to public safety and property. Dar highlights the urgency of addressing this pressing issue as reports of encounters with animals such as leopards and bears surge in recent months.

“These sightings of wild animals venturing into residential areas present a significant risk to public safety and property,” emphasizes Dar. “It’s imperative that we take proactive measures to mitigate these risks and ensure the well-being of our communities.”

Collaborative efforts between local authorities, wildlife experts, and community members are essential to tackle this challenge. Strategies including habitat management, public awareness campaigns, and effective waste management can deter wild animals from encroaching into urban environments.

Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any sightings of wild animals to the appropriate authorities. By working together, we can safeguard our neighborhoods and minimize the impact of wildlife encroachment on public safety and property.(CNI) Current News of India
