Illicit Liquor Trade Busted in Chatha Mill
In a targeted raid, PP Chatha apprehended Kamal Sharma, a resident of Chatha Mill, who was caught red-handed selling illegal liquor from his shop. Police seized 20 quarters of illicit liquor from the premises, dealing a direct blow to the underground liquor trade. A case has been registered at Police Station Satwari under relevant legal provisions, with further investigations underway.
“Operation Ploughing” Halts Illegal Mining
Simultaneously, under “Operation Ploughing,” PP Chatha intercepted a dumper illegally transporting sand in violation of Form A regulations. The vehicle was immediately impounded, and the DMO Jammu has been notified to initiate stringent legal proceedings against the offenders. The action underscores the police’s commitment to protecting natural resources and enforcing environmental laws.
