Srinagar, , CNI: Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Chairman and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, currently part of an all-party delegation visiting Bahrain, made strong remarks regarding Pakistan’s alleged harboring of militants.
Speaking during the visit led by BJP MP Baijayant Jay Panda, Azad said, “If we see, probably the number of terrorists living in Pakistan is more than those residing across the rest of the world.”
The senior leader, however, struck a tone of unity and pride while speaking about the Indian diaspora in Bahrain. He expressed happiness over the peaceful coexistence of people from all religions, calling the Gulf nation a “mini India.”
“There are no restrictions here. People of every faith live and work together peacefully,” he noted.
Azad also emphasized that while political leaders in India may represent different parties, abroad they stand united as Indians.
“In India, we may be from different political parties, but here we come as one — as Indians,” he said.
Reflecting on regional history, Azad contrasted India’s religious diversity with Pakistan’s ideological foundation, saying that the partition based on religion could not hold the two wings of Pakistan together, referring to the formation of Bangladesh in 1971.
“Pakistan was created on a religious basis, yet it could not keep East and West Pakistan united. In contrast, India remains a land of harmony where people of all religions live together in peace,” Azad remarked. (CNI)
