Stating that Jammu and Kashmir has seen a sea change, he said that this change has come because of the people as there has been a lot of development and the poor have got their rights.
To a question on whether there was heavy deployment of security forces in Kashmir, Shah said that not a single additional trooper was deployed when the BJP took over the Manmohan Singh government.
The Home Minister said that we conducted panchayat elections and restored the democratic process in Jammu and Kashmir.

Civilian casualties were 300 compared to 1800 while 574 were security personnel. 2354 were martyred.
He further said that there was only one incident of stone pelting against 2654.
Meanwhile, at an election rally today, the home minister touted the Modi government’s achievements, particularly in strengthening national security and combating terrorism.
Highlighting the differences between the current administration and its predecessors, Shah accused the previous UPA government of failing to confront the threat of terrorism, and blamed Modi’s determined response to Pakistan-backed terrorism. Contradicted.
He further alleged that vote bank politics had compromised national security, citing instances where the Congress alliance led to incidents like the bomb blast in Karnataka.
In the interview, Shah attacked Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, saying that the AAP chief said he was a ‘staunch believer’, but did not have the moral energy to resign even after his arrest.
Criticizing Kejriwal, Shah said that it is the first time in history that a person has not resigned even after being arrested.
It has never happened in history that if a person was arrested in a case, he did not resign on moral grounds. There is no provision in the constitution because the framers of the constitution could not have imagined that someone would be arrested and no one would resign. So there was no such arrangement. It is a very natural thing,” said Shah.(CNI)
