September 18, 2023, CNI News Handwara: A 3-year-old boy was killed in a leopard attack this morning in the Rajwar area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
According to reports that reached CNI, a leopard pounced on Burhan Ahmad, son of Mohammad Kamal Mir of Marchwali Nichhama, outside his home this morning.
After dragging the child a short way, the beast fled, leaving the boy critically injured. The family and locals chased the beast.
The boy was shifted to a neighbouring hospital in Behnipora, where he shortly passed away.
The residents have urged the government to take the appropriate steps to avoid any other such accidents inthe area.
