National Workshop on Shaala Sidhi organised by Samagra Shiksha concludes at Srinagar

Srinagar 12 September: Two days long National level workshop on “Shaala Sidhi” concluded at Srinagar, after an impressive valedictory function in the realm of enlightened educationists. The workshop was organised by the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), New Delhi in collaboration with the Samagra Shiksha, J&K and attended by various stakeholders CEOs, DIET Principals, ZEOs, and HOIs representing various districts of Kashmir Division. This transformative initiative, was taken to deliberate, share knowledge, and implement strategies aimed at elevating the quality of education in schools throughout the region, with the involvement of education luminaries, administrators. Project Director Samagra Shiksha, Deep Raj; Director School Education Kashmir, Tassaduq Hussain attended the workshop, besides distinguished scholars and eminent educationists from NIEPA, Professor Pranati Panda, Professor Rasmita Das Swain from and A.N. Reddy, Assistant Professor, who delivered their expert talks as well. The panel discussion was held under the chairmanship of Project Director Samagra Shiksha, where more than 150 officers and officials participated. Project Director Samagra Shiksha, Deep Raj, in his remarks said that, the workshop is a collaborative effort of National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), New Delhi, and Samagra Shiksha, Jammu and Kashmir, which unveiled an ambitious vision for the transformation of the education landscape. This event served as a crucible for profound discussions, the exchange of expertise, and insights into teaching methodologies and performance enhancement within educational institutions, he said. The workshop witnessed the participation of a diverse and accomplished assembly of education enthusiasts, who shall act as ambassadors, he informed. He also extended his heartfelt gratitude to all participants and guest speakers. He eloquently articulated the transformative vision underpinning the Shaala Sidhi initiative, an integrated web-based school evaluation system poised to comprehensively assess and enhance myriad facets of school functioning. This initiative, deeply aligned with the visionary *National Education Policy 2020 (NEP-2020)*, which represents a beacon of change in the education system of J&K. The workshop etched an indelible mark in the ongoing journey of enhancing education in the region, he added. In concluding remarks, Principal Secretary School Education, Alok Kumar, underscored the paramount importance of Shaala Sidhi in empowering schools to chart their own development course. He emphasized that this visionary initiative provides schools with a structured framework for self-assessment, enabling them to systematically evaluate their performance, pinpoint areas for improvement, and base their decisions on robust data. He also lauded the region’s steadfast commitment to furnish every child with a quality education, hailing the workshop as a pivotal stride towards the realization of this aspiration. Alok Kumar elucidated on a series of innovative initiatives complementary to Shaala Sidhi. He illuminated the essence of SAMIKSHA, designed to solicit invaluable feedback from students on classroom interactions, with the overarching aim of bolstering learning outcomes and informing tailor-made training programs for educators. He expounded upon the School Complex System, an innovative approach designed to optimize the allocation of resources, both human and material, with the ultimate goal of enhancing student achievement. He said, upgradation of Civil Infrastructure in the UT of J&K, has attained pace. Recently, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor inaugurated the civil works worth Rs 164 Crores under Samagra Shiksha & UT Capex, besides launching of no. of new initiatives for enhancing the learning outcomes of the Students. Director School Education Tassaduq Hussain echoed the department’s unwavering commitment to metamorphose schools into vibrant bastions of learning. He affirmed the pivotal role that workshops like the Shaala Sidhi event play in charting new frontiers for educational enhancement. The unwavering commitment and resolute dedication of all participants to drive positive change promises a brighter and more promising future for the students of Jammu and Kashmir, he said. The workshop ended with the distribution of certificates to the experts & eminent educationist.
