We write to your goodself with profound reverence and a deep sense of responsibility as a representative of the Kashmiri Pandit community, to urgently request the establishment of a sacred shrine dedicated to Ma Shiv Yogini Lalleshwari, also known as Lal Ded, at her birthplace in Pandrethan (Pampore). This shrine, we strongly propose, should include a beautifully constructed temple type site and a library housing the Vakhs (mystic poetry) of Ma Lalleshwari and other spiritual texts that reflect her Shiv and divine philosophy.
Sir, we also request to honor the revered spiritual Guru, Ma Lalleshwari (Lal Ded), by naming a significant institution, or airport, or bridge in the Kashmir Valley after her to recognize her contribution to our spiritual heritage by dedicating a prominent landmark in her name will not only preserve her memory but also inspire future generations with her message of, wisdom, and spiritual enlightenment.
Sir ,Ma Lalleshwari, revered as a great spiritual saint and a Shiv Yogini, occupies an unparalleled place in the hearts of Kashmiri Pandits and followers of all faiths in the Kashmir Valley. Born in 1320 in Pandrethan, near Srinagar, she became an embodiment of divine wisdom, transcending religious and social boundaries with her teachings that continue to inspire countless devotees even today. Her Vakhs, which are among the earliest compositions in the Kashmiri language, are not just literary masterpieces but also serve as spiritual guides for seekers across generations.
Sir, the contribution of Ma Lalleshwari to Kashmiri spirituality and culture is immense. She was not only a mystic who espoused the values of love, compassion, and the unity of all existence.
Sir, it is deeply concerning that despite her significant influence and the respect she commands, there is no proper shrine or memorial in her honor at her birthplace which can also become attraction for spiritually elevated Hindu,s and for tourists too.The creation of a sacred shrine and an accompanying library and Dhram Shalla for Hindu Yatri ,s at Pandrethan,Pampore, would not only pay homage to this revered saint but also serve as a center for spiritual learning center.This site could become a pilgrimage destination for those seeking spiritual solace and a deeper understanding of Ma Lalleshwari’s teachings.
Sir, we urge your goodself, in the strongest terms, to take immediate action in constructing this shrine and library along a Dharm Shalla for yatri,s. Such a project would be a fitting tribute to a saint Shiva Yogini teachings and spiritual awakening. It would also serve as an important cultural and spiritual landmark in Kashmir, attracting scholars, devotees, and tourists alike.
