Roads are lifelines of economy: Kavinder Says Modi Govt’s Infrastructure Push as a Game Changer for Connectivity & Economic Growth

Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, emphasized the pivotal role of robust road infrastructure in bolstering economic growth in Jammu and Kashmir. He lauded the visionary initiatives of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the continued commitment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government in transforming India’s road network.
In a press release issued here today, the senior BJP stalwart said “Roads are the lifelines of our economy, facilitating seamless connectivity, trade, and development. The Golden Quadrilateral project, conceptualized under the leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, laid the foundation for modernizing our national highways, connecting major cities through a network of four-lane highways.”
Kavinder further highlighted the advancements under the Modi administration, noting a significant expansion of the national highway network. He emphasized that the Modi government’s substantial investment in infrastructure has revitalized the nation’s roadways, enhancing connectivity and economic growth. “The pace of construction of National Highway across the country has been noteworthy, with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways maintaining a construction pace of 20.78 km per day during the first seven months of the financial year 2023-24,” he added.
In the context of Jammu and Kashmir, Kavinder acknowledged the transformative projects enhancing regional connectivity. “The inauguration of the Z-Morh tunnel in Sonamarg is a testament to the dedication of Modi Government to year-round connectivity, boosting tourism and economic activities in the region,” he said.
The former deputy Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the Modi government for its unwavering focus on infrastructure development. “These initiatives not only enhance connectivity but also drive economic prosperity, reflecting our commitment to building a stronger, more connected India.”
